Tom Hingley is an accomplished singer songwriter and guitarist. Best known as the
voice of Manchester’s finest, Inspiral Carpets. He sang on all the bands hits and was present at the height of their success with 11 UK Top 40 singles and 3 top 10 albums during the height of ‘Madchester’ in the 1990’s.
Tom parted with Inspirals in 2011 and has been forging a successful solo career both as an acoustic singer releasing Keep Britain Untidy (2001) and Grand Mal (2024). Lenny Kravitz once said, “Tom should be singing on Broadway” when commenting on his performance in a 1991 episode of the TV series The Beat. Tom has sung fronting a Tim Booth less version of James at a charity event in 2011. Tom’s links with James also extend to him in 1991 singing on their song Gold Mother from their third album of the same name. Further collaboration with other artists saw Tom guesting on three songs With the Blockheads at a show in Camden in 2022.
In the past year Tom has performed concerts in the UK and Ireland and shows in Bolognia and Hong Kong.
